Twin City is a charming, historic community in Eastern Emanuel County that is just beginning to realize its potential as a heritage tourism destination. It is also home to George L. Smith State Park where recreational opportunities abound. Several restaurants in town offer classic, home-made, country cooking and Lew's Barbeque, famous in the region, is known as one of Georgia's 100 Best. Fine dining opportunities are nearby. For football fans, the local high school, Emanuel County Institute, has a championship team, and from August to December one can enjoy the competition under "Friday night lights." For the sportsman, Emanuel and surrounding counties offer great hunting and fishing.
Our quiet, southern community is equidistant from Macon, Augusta, and Savannah where major shopping and excellent doctors and medical facilities are available. Twin City itself has a well-staffed and accessible family medical clinic as well as excellent emergency services.
For diversion, Historic Twin City GA, Inc., an active non-profit with strong membership, sponsors farmers markets and festivals, and the Twin City Main Street Program actively works to revitalize the historic commercial areas. Twin City offers great opportunities for second careers like opening the ice cream shop you always dreamed of!
Twin City has a reputation of being "twice as friendly, twice as nice." We hope you'll come for a visit and stay for a lifetime!
